So, that leaves me with all of my clothes from my last pregnancy for this go round. Unforch, last time the majority of my pregnancy was in the colder months. This time, I'm due in September, one of the hottest months in the Bay Area.
Double unforch, my well-meaning bargain-loving mom sometimes thinks I'm a lot larger than I am. We were still living with her on the ranch last time I was pregnant and she brought me home lots of inexpensive maternity clothes that were a little too big for me, which make me look bigger than I am, which results in more too-big clothes being purchased. I was a couple of years into my frugality kick, so I wore them anyway, because free clothes. Some were cute, others were too short pants.
|Before (Left): "Where's the flood?"|
After (Right): I wear short shorts!
These black ones don't look too short, but trust, they are. They're also pretty big in the hip and in the full-panel area, but luckily the elastic is the kind with buttonholes, giving me the option to cinch it in.
|I know, I'm a great photographer.|
These "afters" still aren't the most attractive things around, and I certainly won't be winning any maternity style competitions any time soon. (If they had those. That would be funny if they had those and I would NOT enter them.) But, they get the job done. I actually haven't worn shorts in a pretty long time (last summer I lived in a maxi skirt), but I am loving having bare legs in the heat. I think I'm re-sold on shorts.
